Surprised

…by the real deal.

Some of the most encouraging comments I’ve received about these two books come from parents, who tell me they are delighted both with the stories and that these books contain actual pictures of animals. They tell me how helpful these photos are when sharing the books with their children.

Carol Gault made that all possible. She is an amazing photographer/artist. Her talents are too numerous for me to list. You can check them out for yourself. Both of these books are available locally, at the Fallbrook Art Center in their gift shop, or on Amazon. Visit the Gift Shop in person, or use the link below to find these books on Amazon.

And even if you don’t purchase either of these, please keep reading to those littles in your life. Stories are so important in the development of a child. Teach them early to love the written word, to learn the power of putting words to paper, and the ability to use written words to find themselves.

Card Creativity

May was a busy month for making cards. Many were needed for June events. Here are a few of my recently completed creative pieces.

What has been your creative release?

Challenge to all creatives

Art on building in La Jolla, California

Especially during these days, when many of us are struggling with how to respond to life and all the changes challenging our culture and the world, the truth that artists have a duty to reflect the times seems incredibly important.

Creativity comes in different forms and mediums. I encourage you to mine those gifts from within yourself. That may mean painting, dancing, music, writing, building — simply creating something.

My contribution will be a book of poetry, to be revealed later in the year.

Yikes, I’ve told you what my goal is. Now you all know, and may periodically inquire about my progress.

What will you contribute?

First Quarter Creativity

I kicked off 2018 by cleaning my art room. I’m not sure if it’s the added organization in the room or simply spending time surrounded by art supplies that generated such a desire to create things. I’ve even been able to share my space and time with a friend creating cards.

Here is a sampling of some cards created during this time…

Then I decided to try something different. I have no idea what I’m going to use this for — maybe some day a children’s story.
